A native bird of India, this is a stout gray bird with light, silky smooth feathers on its head and a distinctive black band passing across its eyes, circling the face and ending at a V at the throat. It has orange legs and a beak that grows so fast that it must be de-beaked often. The bird reaches maturity at 26-28 weeks and then begins laying, following mating season.Prices Include Shipping. These products being sold are live chicks. Chukar partridge chicks begin shipping mid May. Chicks are shipped from the hatchery as soon as they hatch. Shipment dates are determined by our partner hatcheries or breeders unless a specific date is provided during checkout. This process is not immediate and may take some time as we coordinate with the hatchery/breeder. Shipping costs are not included in the price for hatching eggs, baby chicks, adult birds, pigeons, and doves due to special handling requirements. Shipping is calculated at checkout. Live birds and hatching eggs can only be shipped within the lower 48 US states.
